The Rough Guide to the Gambia (2nd ed, 2006; 1st ed, 2003)
Book of the week
Clearly knows its djembe from its dun-dun, and takes in just about everything a visitor might want. The big news in Gambian tourism, as this book makes clear, is the growing range of options... and there is a new breed of visitor, too, looking for something beyond the beach. They are likely to be found with this book in hand.

Modern architecture buffs will find plenty to whet their appetite.
